Switching to a WhisperKit model

We are now including a new Whisper engine called WhisperKit that provides better results (especially for longer files that might contain periods of silence or music), as well as faster performance.

To get started, open the Manage Models screen from this menu:

Filter the list by choosing "WhisperKit", and then download a model. The Turbo model is a great choice for many Macs!

The model will first download and then once it's activated, there's an initial loading time the very first time whilst the model is prepared for your system. For the larger models this can take up to a few minutes. Subsequent loads are very fast.
